Coming off one of the biggest years of growth in company history, competitor email tracking platform SendView has raised $8.34 in funding from up and coming VC firm, Gretasamcal Ventures in exchange for an undisclosed stake in the popular email marketing service. SendView’s co-founders, Gregg Blanchard and Patrick Sande, raised an initial angel round nearly 5 years ago with an in-kind investment from Kim and Kate Capital.

“This is really important for us to have the backing of Gretasamcal at a time when, historically, investors of their caliber are as picky about the companies they work with as they are about what they’ll eat at dinner,” said SendView co-founder, Patrick Sande. “This will really help us take things to the same level with our service when the crayon dries on this deal.”

Gretasamcal, consisting of industry veterans Sam Sande, Sam Blanchard, Greta Sande, and Callie Blanchard, is famous for being one of the youngest investment firms in the country with an average employee age of just 8 years and 4 months. The fund was raised primarily from recent growth in the roadside lemonade stand industry and has plans for further investments in the Lego Minifigure futures market.

While every member of the team is also a child of SendView founders, both parties don’t see any cause for concern with the close relationships involved in the transaction. Kim and Kate Capital, for example, is led by the spouses of both SendView founders and their investment consisted primarily of supportive comments while watching Netflix in lieu of monetary funds.

“We’ve worked with Sam, Sam, Greta, and Callie for years in much more demanding situations at all hours of the day and night,” said SendView co-founder, Gregg Blanchard. “As far as we can tell, this may be one of the more seamless partnerships yet. Kim and Kate have been fantastic partners and none of the Gretasamcal team would be here without them, literally, so it’s a really natural, seamless transition for everyone.”

Due to personality challenges in the late evening hours and before meals, all meetings between the parties are planned for shortly after breakfast. Part of both teams recently completed an off-site retreat at Legoland and plans are in the works for the entire team to gather at a playground near the company’s Minnesota headquarters in the near future.

Now more than 5 years old, SendView is a success because of the support of our incredible families not because of some venture capital firm. Family comes first, but with a few hours each week we've consistently put in the work, reinvested back into the business, and watched this service grow beyond what we ever expected. This April Fools day, we thought this would be a fun way to celebrate that journey and show some love to our awesome spouses and children who have kept us going.
