With so much news happening all around us and on everyday, it's easy to miss some of the stuff that has a very real and direct impact on people's lives.
Like this:
Earlier today, the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office announced that if the Republican Party passes the cuts to Medicaid they want in order to fund tax cuts for the rich, 13.7 million people would lose their coverage.
13.7 million lower-income families would lose access to health care. That's more people dying because they can't afford health care. It's more people going to the emergency room for primary care — which raises costs for everyone else.
All so some of the richest people in America can buy more art or another boat.
Republicans are hoping that people will be distracted by the noise. They are hoping people won't notice the impact of their tax bill before the vote. We can't let that happen.
Please sign our petition: tell Congress NO cuts to Medicaid in order to give tax cuts to some of the richest people in this country.
If you're in a blue state, national Republicans need to know you're prepared to act to kick them out if they get this done. If you're in a red or purple state or district, your elected officials need to know their jobs are at risk if they get this done.
