Roger here. I wanted to quickly touch base with you ahead of our quarterly deadline tomorrow about why reaching the DNC's goal -- and expanding the map for Democrats -- is so critical.
Republicans have proposed over 250 laws in state legislatures across the country attacking the right to vote this year. In Georgia, they just passed one of the worst voter suppression bills we've seen in years -- what Stacey Abrams is calling Jim Crow 2.0. It's more important now than ever before to raise the funds needed to mobilize organizers and volunteers nationwide who are ready to fight back.
Your gift before tomorrow's deadline supports this work on multiple fronts: In the courts, where we spent over $30 million on litigation to defend people's right to vote last year alone; in the states, where we must keep up our ongoing voter protection and support programs; and across the country, where we must elect Democrats who will increase access to the ballot box.
So, I have to ask: Will you be one of the 11 more supporters from
your state we need to donate $7 before tomorrow's deadline? The last thing we want to do is go into these fights unprepared, and your support right now helps ensure we'll leave nothing to chance.
With your help, this Team did great work last year. Hundreds of thousands of organizers, volunteers, and voters came together to defeat Donald Trump, take back the Senate, and keep the House. But Republicans' wave of attacks on voting rights proves that now isn't the time to step back.
As Republicans' voter suppression campaign rages on, it's even more critical that we reach out to and organize alongside new communities -- first-time voters, young folks, and those who are often left behind by our political system. And particularly communities of color, whom the GOP is actively working to disenfranchise in this very moment.
But it takes incredible amounts of time, resources, and talent to do this work -- and we cannot do it alone. Without your support, we may fall short, so I'm asking you directly:
