Today we would love to shine a spotlight on one of our favorite Taylor body shapes - the Grand Concert. The GC was unveiled in 1984 to meet the needs of a new wave of acoustic fingerstyle guitarists. The Grand Concert set out to offer a slinkier string-feel with its 24-7/8" scale length and slightly wider neck that gives you more room for complex chord shapes.

The smaller body also lets the guitar sit really nicely in a mix without being overly bassy like a Jumbo or Dreadnought guitar can sometimes be! Lastly if you're just a person who wants the comfort of a smaller-bodied acoustic, the Grand Concert gives you just that! Don't let its small size fool you. If you're someone who uses a pick, the GC is still a great choice if you want something that pumps out volume like a cannon the harder you strum it!
