Folks -- last night didn't turn out how we hoped. But we can't just hang our heads about it -- the results in Virginia were a wake up call: Now is the time to get to work, not give in. Republicans may have won in Virginia last night, but we cannot let them control the narrative heading into 2022. If we do, that'll be the end of us.

The fact of the matter is that Democrats are delivering for our country and the American people. We passed the American Rescue Plan to help get over 190 million people vaccinated and send relief checks to families everywhere. And you know how many Republicans supported all of that? Not a damn one.

Not only that, President Biden just introduced the Build Back Better framework to rebuild our middle class, invest in children and families, lower the cost of health care, and fight climate change. We've made too much progress this year to sleepwalk into next year's elections.

While our programs helped turn out hundreds of thousands of voters -- last night was proof that the GOP is going to fight tooth and nail to win back every seat we've got. We have to be ready. So, I am asking for this team to step up to make a difference as we jump right back into laying the early groundwork for next year.

I've seen first-hand what this team is capable of. Y'all took back the White House and the Senate last cycle -- and the programs that this team invested in this year helped educate and mobilize hundreds of thousands of voters. But, still, it was not enough.

We'll be digging into the numbers coming out of Virginia and use what we learn to continue to strengthen the Democratic Party and our candidates, but part of our path forward here will be picking up the pace so we can fend off the GOP's attacks.

We must protect and expand our Democratic majorities to keep enacting the Biden-Harris agenda and rebuilding our nation for the American people. So, I have to ask:
