Hi there,

It's Dan from Mous here again. I wanted to take some time to talk you through our brand-new, impact-absorbing technology, AiroFoam™, which is in all our iPad cases and MacBook Pro sleeves!

When we started making cases for bigger devices we clocked that we needed a high-impact material which was less dense and more malleable than the stuff we use in our phone cases, AiroShock™. So we came up with AiroFoam™ which is super lightweight and extremely protective because it's a non-newtonian fluid.

It sounds very science-y, but what it basically means is it changes state when under stress - like rubbing liquid shampoo to make a foam or the solid skin on liquid custard when it gets cold. So AiroFoam™ starts as a soft, malleable foam but when you drop your AiroFoam™-lined case, the impact turns that foam into a hard shell to protect your device, then goes back to a foam. The molecules form hydrogen bonds, the strongest kind of bond, then the impact is absorbed by those bonds breaking. This is how AiroFoam™ goes back to being a foam. Pretty cool, right?

This amazing, high-impact material is fantastic! Because of the way the molecules are arranged and move about it can be incredibly protective and incredibly light, adding very little weight to your device. You can get your hands on AiroFoam™-lined iPad cases right now and as I promised in my last email, our MacBook Pro sleeves, which are also protected with AiroFoam™, have finally arrived! Until then you can read more about AiroFoam™ here and see all our other awesome tech accessories right here.

And of course with the Apple Event coming up, we're so excited to get to work on cases for the new iPhone! You can register your interest for these here.

I look forward to keeping you updated as we keep innovating!

All the best,
Dan Darvill
