When I reached out following this month's elections in Virginia, I said that our loss was a wake-up call.
And now, our fundraising is still not where it needs to be as we look ahead to next year's midterms. So, let me say it again: Now is the time to get to work, not give in.
If we've learned anything from this year's elections, it's that we need to turn up the heat -- and that means investing early and often to turn out voters in every community across the country. But that's simply not possible if we don't reach our fundraising goals, so I'm asking:
Will you rush a $7 donation to the Democratic Fight Fund now to make sure Democrats are set up to compete and win everywhere in 2022 and beyond?
We need to remain laser focused on delivering for working families and making our case directly to each and every voter. Just take a look at what happened this week: President Biden signed the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law -- the most significant long-term investment in our country's infrastructure and competitiveness in nearly a century. Democrats are delivering.
I'm a firm believer that no state is a red state if we invest early enough and get our message out to voters before they head to the ballot box. That's why the DNC has already made historic investments in on-the-ground organizing, grassroots infrastructure, and voter protection to ensure that Democrats can compete and win everywhere.
But those investments alone aren't going to do the trick. We have to ramp it up if we're going to lay the early groundwork for victory in 2022. And how we finish out this year will determine what our programs will look like leading up to the midterm elections.
