A lot of people have asked me what the secret was to winning my and Sen. Warnock's runoffs in Georgia. And here's the honest truth: Our victory was years in the making.
It took organizing every year -- not just the ones with a presidential election. It took a world-class Democratic data and technology infrastructure. It took mobilizing thousands of new voters and protecting the right to vote, too. And consistent, early investment in the DNC made it possible.
Right now, our party has just two days until our first fundraising deadline of 2021. Coming up short on our fundraising now could jeopardize the long-term strength of our party and our ability to compete in the next Georgia -- places where Democrats haven't traditionally been considered competitive -- and expand our majorities in Congress in the years to come.
Democrats flipped the Senate with the narrowest possible majority. Next year, we have to defend it with no margin for error. So I have to ask:
Will you be one of 19 more Democrats from your area to make a $7 donation to the DNC before Sunday's FEC deadline? The infrastructure that helped defeat Republicans in Georgia was years in the making -- and building the long-term strength of our party starts right now.
