Judging by his tweets and his fundraising scare tactics, it’s pretty clear that Donald Trump watched our convention last week.

In an email to supporters from last week, he said that I and all the other convention speakers hate him and anyone who stands with him.

I have to say two things: he’s dead wrong, and he missed the entire point of our convention.

Our convention was an amazing display of what we Americans can accomplish if we come together and summon the best parts of us. We made it crystal clear that hate has no place in our party or our country.

We also made it clear that this election is about hope and empathy -- so I’m not going to try to scare you into donating just so I can raise a buck.

Like I said on Thursday night, I may be the Democratic candidate, but I will be an American president.

And when I promised the American people that I will work as hard for those who didn't support me as I will for those who did, I meant every word.

Now, as the Republicans are gearing up for three more nights of their convention, we’ve got to be serious about making sure we have what it takes to beat them on the ballot in November.

We know what’s on their agenda -- four more years of corrupt, failed leadership.

So it’s on us to do what it takes to put our country on a different path -- a path of hope, love, and light.

Kamala and I can’t do this without folks like you having our backs. If you’re not able to give today, that’s more than okay, I know these are tough times to pull out your wallet for a political campaign.
