Folks -- I wanted to be sure you saw that Kamala and the DNC announced a huge, $25 million initiative to protect the right to vote. That's right, $25 million.
The I Will Vote initiative will ensure that we can fight back against coordinated attacks on the right to vote that are taking place across the country. It'll also provide critical resources to keep educating voters, registering them, and turning them out to the polls. It's a big deal, folks.
Our democracy depends on an election system built on integrity and independence. I'm glad to know that the DNC is working around the clock to protect that system, but they cannot go at it alone.
Kamala and I are relying on this grassroots team to fully back the DNC's I Will Vote initiative so we can protect the right to vote nationwide. Can I count on you to chip in $7 to the DNC today?
The DNC's I Will Vote initiative will help hold Republican leaders accountable, educate voters on the ground, and turn them out in every election. But this initiative is just the first step. We must also fight for the For the People Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act to restore and expand voting protections. As soon as Congress passes them, I will sign them.
It will take all of us, coming together to raise the urgency of this moment and make sure that our democracy reflects the will of the people and delivers for our nation. I know this team is up for a challenge. I've witnessed your strength firsthand, from getting Kamala and me elected to passing the American Rescue Plan. There is nothing that we can't accomplish when we come together.
