As folks across the country are baking pies and bickering about the right kind of cranberry sauce (straight out of the can or bust, in my opinion), I'm here at DNC HQ crunching numbers.

Here's why: We've got a long road ahead, and if we want to maintain -- and expand -- our Democratic majorities in the upcoming midterm elections, we can't lose sight of hitting our fundraising goals for even a moment.

We're gearing up to make some big midterm investments -- our biggest ever! -- early next year. We're going to hire even more organizers, run trainings and bootcamps for them and volunteers nationwide, empower state parties, and more. These investments will be critical to making sure we don't start 2022 behind the eight ball, but we need to hit our monthly fundraising goals to make them -- and 63% of the way through November, we're not on track.

The last time a midterm election came around, there was no such thing as the Democratic Fight Fund -- we've come a long way since then. We're charting a new course for 2022: With just a handful of seats standing between Democrats and the possibility of Majority Leader Mitch McConnell or Speaker Kevin McCarthy (yikes!), we're investing in every corner of the country -- even in traditionally red states. Picking up seats for Democrats nationwide next year won't be easy, but that's why it's so critical we invest early in our tech, party infrastructure, and organizing staff. If we don't, our Democratic majorities could be on the line.
