We held the House of Representatives. We took back the White House. We flipped the Senate. Some people called it impossible -- but this grassroots team turned out a record number of voters last election cycle to make it happen.

Now, as my colleagues in Congress and I work every day to build our country back better, we're counting on this team to bring the same grit and determination as we work to expand the map for Democrats in the upcoming midterm elections.

The DNC is already investing in the organizing, grassroots infrastructure, and voter protection efforts that will be critical to protecting and expanding our slim Democratic majorities. They're coming up on a big deadline tonight -- the very last fundraising deadline before this year's elections in New Jersey and Virginia -- so I have to ask:

Losing just one seat in the Senate next year could spell trouble for our Democratic priorities. If I have learned anything in my 22 years in the Senate, it's that if we let Republicans gain an inch, they are going to take a mile -- and if Mitch McConnell regains the gavel, the very first thing on his agenda will be undoing every accomplishment Democrats have made this year.
