Hi there,

It's Dan from Mous here. Have you ever wondered how exactly wireless chargers actually work? I'll walk you through it.

How does wireless charging work?

Wireless chargers use electro-magnetism to transmit the energy needed to charge your phone. Inside a wireless charger there's a coiled wire around a bar magnet. When electricity passes through the coiled wire, it creates an electromagnetic field of electromagnetic power (voltage) around the magnet. This is then transferred to a nearby device - in this case, your phone!

What is our AutoAlign+™ technology?

AutoAlign+™ technology was built in-house here at Mous - it's an array of magnets that are precisely positioned and embedded in your phone case and in our wireless chargers. The magnets in the case match perfectly with the magnets in the charger, meaning that the charging coils are always perfectly aligned so that the electromagnetic power can be optimally transferred to your phone for an optimised charge each time.

What about our MagSafe® compatible technology?

Our MagSafe compatible chargers work in the exact same way. The magnetic array in our chargers matches the MagSafe magnetic pattern, keeping the coils incredibly close to seamlessly attach to an array of accessories, including our AutoAlign+™ wireless chargers, without disrupting the phone's functionality or battery life.

Take a look at our huge range of wireless chargers and deep dive into the science of wireless charging on our blog.
